Petalo
Decoration that lets the room show through
Petalo gives decorated brass two different partners: the open space around candle-style lights and the broad surface of a pleated fabric shade. In the open designs, curved arms and small dishes leave the metalwork exposed. In the shaded lamps, fabric gathers above the stem and base, bringing a softer texture into the composition. Both approaches give ornament a clear framework rather than covering the lamp uniformly.
The wall lights make the open arrangement compact, gathering curved arms around a decorated attachment. Chandeliers take those curves around a suspended centre. The same decorative character therefore has different emphases: a wall fitting places detail against the architecture, while a chandelier lets the branches spread above the furniture. The brass remains the connecting material, with the arrangement changing how much of the room the lamp occupies.
How much of the room should the chandelier furnish?
Within our chandeliers, Petalo develops that open arrangement around a suspended centre. A more compact composition spreads curved arms on one level; the larger two-tier version repeats them in height as well as width. The difference is more than a light count. Multiple levels make the fitting a fuller furnishing overhead, while a simpler ring of arms leaves more of the room visible around the centre.
This gives a useful choice between a lamp accompanying a decorated interior and one becoming its principal ornament. Over simple furniture, the tiered design can provide much of the room’s decorative richness. Where ceilings, fabrics and furniture already have strong patterns, a less layered composition leaves those elements more room.
Fabric changes the conversation near furniture
Petalo’s table and floor lamps introduce pleated fabric above decorated stems and bases. At a cabinet, the base and brass details are seen near everyday objects; beside a seat, the floor lamp lengthens the stem and carries the shade into the wider furnishing. The folds offer a different texture from the open candle-style fittings. Within our indoor lighting, this breadth makes Petalo useful for choosing where the room needs a fuller ornament and where a fabric shade should accompany it.
