For generations, our family has shared a passion: turning brass into objects that bring beauty to everyday life. Ghidini 1849 lighting grows from this desire, bringing Italian craftsmanship together with a thoughtful approach to form, proportion and detail.

A family history, shaped in brass

Over 170 years of passion, dedication and a heritage of creations. Our work begins with a simple ambition: to bring art into everyday life through objects made with care.

Brass has always been part of our family’s story. We study it, shape it and work its surfaces, drawn to its beauty and malleability. Previous generations used it for handles, candelabras and handrails for ships: different objects, connected by knowledge of the same material.

With our first lamps, we discovered a new way to express that knowledge through light. Lighting became the heart of Ghidini 1849, with collections for interiors and outdoors. Decorative pull handles and bathroom accessories extend our family of objects into other spaces in the home.

From classic to contemporary

We design and make our collections to accompany different ways of living. The decorated arms of Luigi XV and the pared-back lines of Venere express two sides of our work: different styles, united by attention to proportions, materials and the finished object.

Why we choose brass

For us, brass is a noble material: beautiful to work with, versatile in form and made for lasting objects. It brings substance to our lamps, from slender contemporary lines to elaborate decorative details.

Brass can be recycled repeatedly without losing its material properties. Recovered brass objects and manufacturing offcuts can be remelted into new raw material, keeping the metal in use beyond its first life.

This ability to return to use, together with its durability, is part of why we choose it. Our finishes give the material different colours and sheens, to accompany the interiors around it.
