Mississippi
White glass with a shaped profile
Mississippi gives glass a more developed contour than a plain hemisphere. On the table lamp, a broad lower body narrows into a neck before opening again at the rim. The pale surface remains easy to recognise, while those changes of width give the shade detail without covering it in a pattern.
The wall light carries related white glass alongside a decorated brass arm and dome detail. Its curved support draws the fitting away from the wall, letting the wall become the background to the metalwork. Here the decorative effect includes the attachment and the shape of the arm, as well as the glass itself.
Full surfaces and finer supports
At table height, the shaped stem and side curls provide a more slender framework below the broad shade. The tabletop remains visible around the lower part of the lamp, giving wood, stone or painted furniture a place beside the metal detail. The white glass provides the fuller surface above it.
The chandelier repeats the glass around a central structure, making a wider arrangement overhead. The rounded volumes can establish a centre above a table, while the scrollwork gives the supporting parts their own interest. It develops the family at a larger scale without requiring the wall and table designs to imitate the whole chandelier.
In our indoor lighting, Mississippi offers a decorative mix of glass volume and curved supports. Simple furniture gives those shapes room to stand out; a more layered interior can bring them alongside textiles and framed objects. The family’s character is carried by the changing contours of the parts, allowing each fitting to belong to its own setting.
