Lighting paths and open garden spaces

A lamp post brings lighting into the garden without relying on a wall or an overhead structure. It can stand beside a path, at the entrance to a courtyard or where paving meets a planted border. These are decorative garden fittings with slender posts and curved arms, suited in style to country houses, traditional courtyards and gardens with established planting.

Think about the route as well as the individual fitting. A single post can give a turning point a clear visual identity; repeating a design can connect the gate to the house. Leave room for the arms and shades alongside paths and planting, and consider the view from a terrace or window when choosing the position.

One light or three: a difference in scale

The single-light designs have a more compact outline, with one shade carried on a curved arm. Their lower, narrower proportions sit comfortably beside a planted border or a smaller paved area. The three-light versions stand taller, with arms spreading around the post to create a more prominent centrepiece in an open courtyard or a spacious garden.

The glass changes the character too. Lipari combines rounded brass shades with smaller clear glass enclosures; Amalfi has longer glass forms that extend below the shades. The glass shape and overall width help you judge how each design will fit the chosen setting. The brightness and spread of light depend on the bulbs and the position of the lamp post as well as the number of lights.
