Ghidini 1849 brings the experience of an Italian family workshop to outdoor lighting. Our artisanal production draws on a close knowledge of brass, with care for the shape of a shade, the curve of an arm and the relationship between metal and glass. The collection brings that shared approach to wall lights, pendants, ceiling lights and garden posts.
The designs range from simple country-style shades to nautical lanterns, industrial grilles and ornamental scrolls. Choose a restrained outline to accompany an already detailed façade, or a more decorative fitting where a plain wall leaves room for it.
Wall lights or overhead lighting for entrances and terraces
Outdoor wall lights can sit beside the front door, along a façade or behind a seating area. Compact designs are useful where a doorway or shutters leave little room. Projecting arms bring the shade further from the wall and need more clearance beside a passage.
On a covered terrace, an outdoor pendant light placed above the dining table helps define the dining area. Beneath a high roof or exposed beams, it brings the fitting closer to the table.
Outdoor ceiling lights offer an alternative for a covered entrance or a porch used mainly as a passage, where a fitting closer to the ceiling is preferable. A wall light can complement either option where the covered area continues along the house.
Taking the lighting into the garden
Garden lamp posts bring lighting beyond the walls and roof, beside a path, in a courtyard or near a garden seating area. Single-light designs have a more contained outline; three-light versions spread their arms around the pole and create a more prominent feature.
Think about the view from the house and the route through the garden together. A post close to planting calls for a different visual balance from one in an open courtyard. Its height and the spread of its arms matter alongside the surrounding foliage and the space people use to pass.
Brass finishes that connect different areas
Antique brass brings warm, darker tones to many designs in the collection; selected models also offer bronze finishes. A shared finish can link a pendant over the table with wall lights near the door and posts further into the garden. There is no need to repeat the same shape in every position.
