Musical
Musical
A curve that gives the whole lamp its character
In Musical, the brass support is the distinctive part of the composition. Its long bends and instrument-like details sit beneath an ivory fabric shade, whose close pleats contrast with the more generous curve of the metal. The shade remains a familiar domestic form; the structure introduces the unexpected detail. Together they give the family a musical association without making the lamp a literal replica of an instrument.
The relationship changes across the family. On the wall light, the curved arm projects from a circular mounting plate, allowing the outline to stand against the wall. In the table lamp, the loop sits above a rounded base and becomes part of an arrangement on a console or bedside cabinet. The floor lamp carries the idea into a taller composition beside a seat, with a longer stem giving the curved upper support more room.
A shared detail, different places in the room
The musical reference belongs to the lamp’s supporting structure, not to a separate ornament. The fabric shades keep those different forms related to curtains and upholstery, while the brass introduces a finer, more reflective material among softer surfaces. A quiet background makes the open curves easy to appreciate; patterned textiles can give the same lamps a more layered setting.
This character need not be reserved for a music room. A table lamp among books or a floor lamp near a favourite chair can bring the reference into everyday life, leaving the rest of the interior free to tell its own story. Within our indoor lighting, Musical offers a particularly expressive support; the wider Art Deco and Art Nouveau lighting selection provides other approaches to decorative brass and curved forms.
