Ottavia
A place for the objects left in view
The bathroom contains things that rarely disappear into cupboards: soap, a tumbler, the towel being used and the bottles reached for each morning. Ottavia gives these objects a setting of their own. Ghidini 1849’s brass brackets and holders remain part of the room’s decoration, rather than vanishing behind what they support.
Near the basin, ceramic soap dishes, tumblers and dispensers give different daily objects a place of their own. A combined holder gathers them into one arrangement; separate fittings let the spacing follow the mirror, basin and furniture. The ceramic brings a smooth, full shape to the brass frames, so the smaller accessories have a different visual role from the long bars used for towels.
The same family extends into storage. A glass shelf keeps bottles visible on a transparent plane, outlined by a fine raised rail. The open towel shelf is a different kind of support, suited to folded textiles, while rings and rails hold a towel in use. Hooks, paper holders and the wall-mounted toilet-brush container bring smaller daily functions into the scheme. These are useful changes of form, rather than scaled copies of the same accessory.
Storage changes the rhythm of a wall
The support changes with the object it holds. Ottavia’s breadth allows the bathroom wall to be arranged around the way it is used: open bars for folded towels, ceramic beside the basin, glass for small bottles, and more compact fittings at other points. Brass gives each arrangement a considered finish without concealing what it contains. Our wider bathroom accessories and consoles offers other family designs to compare before choosing that character.
